Streetlights!

Now that it gets dark earlier in the day (practically just after noon, it seems), you may notice that a streetlight, parking lot light, or other source of illumination has gone dark in the Highlands. Who do you call to get the thing serviced? Well, let me shed a little light on that subject (Sorry!). It really depends on where the failed light happens to be…

If the dead street lamp is one of the brushed-bronze lights, with the flat, horizontal head that overlooks one of the streets in the Highlands, that light belongs to and is maintained by King City's Department of Public Works. Look for the round, metal tag on the light pole; you'll need the pole number when you report this! Give them a call at 503-639-4082.

Those tall, shiny, stainless-steel light poles along SW 131st Avenue are the concern of Washington County. You can call them at 503-846-7623, or use their handy online Service Request form.

The shorter, brown street lamps around the parking lots and walkways in the Highland Park Condominiums spaces are actually all private property, and they're serviced by folks right here in the Highlands (or who've been hired to take care of those maintenance activities). You can contact Sheldon Seigel (Chair of the Condo Maintenance Committee) at 503-430-1506 to report those outages. The same goes for the lights mounted on the exterior garage walls around the Condos.
